On 13 October 2025, Langkawi Geopark will observe the International Day for Disaster Reduction by hosting a Webinar with Geopark Sistership. This virtual event aims to foster knowledge exchange and collaboration among global geoparks to address natural disasters and enhance community resilience.
Focus Areas
The webinar will highlight the role of UNESCO Global Geoparks in mitigating the impacts of natural disasters and building sustainable, disaster-resilient communities. Drawing on the experiences of Langkawi Geopark and its sister geoparks, participants will gain insights into the intersection of geology, community preparedness, and disaster management.
