He is name after trilobites, the ancient fossilized arthropods and among the earliest marine species, thriving in Earth’s oceans for nearly 300 million years before their extinction. These remarkable organisms flourished during the Paleozoic Era, particularly in the Cambrian Period—often referred to as the “Trilobite Age”—dating back over 541 to 485 million years.

GETTING TO KNOW UNESCO GLOBAL GEOPARK
UNESCO Global Geoparks are single, unified geographical areas where sites and landscapes of international geological significance are managed with a holistic concept of protection, education, and sustainable development. Their bottom-up approach of combining conservation with sustainable development while involving local communities is becoming increasingly popular.

📍 Tempat: SK Ulu Melaka, Langkawi
Seksyen Geopark dan Kelastarian, Bahagian Pelancongan telah menyertai pameran bersempena Kempen Internet Selamat Wilayah Utara yang telah diadakan pada 18–19 Mei 2025 di SK Ulu Melaka . Program ini bertujuan meningkatkan kesedaran keselamatan penggunaan internet dalam kalangan pelajar serta memupuk tanggungjawab sebagai pengguna digital beretika. Ia juga memperkenalkan konsep pemuliharaan alam melalui Langkawi UNESCO Global Geopark.

Inspection and Handover Visit – Menora Trail, Kubang Badak Biogeotrail
5 May 2025 | An official inspection and final work verification visit was conducted on 5 May 2025 for the Menora Trail project within the Kubang Badak Biogeotrail. The session involved the handover process from the appointed contractor LADA, ensuring that all completed work met the required specifications and standards.
The work visit was attended by Ms Diana, Ranger Azlina, Ranger Afifi, Ranger Haikal and Ms Shatirah, LADA`s Technical Division Representatives.
With the completion of this process, Menora Trail is now officially open to the tourists as one of the geotourism attractions in Kubang Badak.
Let’s continue celebrating and conserving the geological and natural treasures of Langkawi! 🌿🪨
